Current Captain

A warm welcome to new and old members of our society which was first formed in 1972 by several forward-thinking ladies’ captains.  2022 will represent our Golden Jubilee but our aims remain to simply enjoy our golf and form new golfing friendships with like-minded people who have contributed to ladies’ golf in their clubs – and of course to have some fun!

The last two years have proved to be very challenging and like so many others our events were badly affected, it is hoped that 2022 will allow us to return to something approaching normality and we will be able to hold our events on their planned dates.

In 2022 our year starts with the annual Bridge drive being held at Letchworth GC on Monday 21st February, we hold Spring, Summer and Autumn Meetings and an Away Break in June each year. Then throughout the course of the year we have competitions with four neighbouring counties Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambs and Hunts and Essex, and in addition, at the beginning of December, we hold our AGM followed by a lunch.

All the meetings, matches and the AGM provide great social occasions to catch up with golfing friends and acquaintances and I encourage those of you who can, to sign up and take part as much as possible.

I was Ladies’ Captain at Letchworth in 2015. I joined the society the same year and the committee in December 2017. If I’m not at home the chances are you will find me on a golf course somewhere around the world, more latterly only in the UK, thanks Covid! I feel I have always made up on enthusiasm what I might lack on skill in the game of golf and look on every game as a pleasure…life is too short to treat the game any other way. It’s a great honour to serve as Captain of the Society and I sincerely hope I can bring fun to my year and not disappoint any of you.

I look forward to seeing many of you again during 2022 and hope to meet lots of new members as well.

Happy Golfing.
